About Me
And Why I Chose this Project
My name is Brittany Miller, and I am a senior Elementary Education major at Southern Utah University. I've always loved learning, and have made it a personal goal to continue to learn throughout my life. I chose to become a teacher for this reason, because Learning Lives Forever. Helping others to become educated, love learning, and become empowered with knowledge are some of my goals in life. I chose this project so I could help young seniors in high school on their path to excellence in higher education and their future. I also chose this project to help with my skills as an elementary teacher.

What is it?
My EDGE Project
The Governor’s Honors Academy is a program held at Southern Utah University for 9-days during the summer. During the academy, 50+ of Utah’s top high school seniors come and participate in seminars, leadership activities, and other enriching experiences. These participants need counselors to guide them in Personal Development groups, to be responsible for their well-being during the camp, and to facilitate personal learning within each participant.

I was personally interviewed and hired as a counselor for the 2016 Governor's Honors Academy. On this site, you will find the goals of this project and how I completed them, as well as various personal development groups I produced to guide these high school students.
